Its main uses are three aspects: for the manufacture of abrasives; used to manufacture resistance heating element silicon carbon rod, silicon carbon tube, etc.; used in the manufacture of refractory products.

As a special refractory material, it is used in iron and steel smelting as a refractory product for blast furnace, iron furnace and other pressing, corrosion, wear and tear parts; in non-ferrous metal (zinc, aluminum, copper) smelting as smelting furnace lining, molten metal conveying pipeline, filters, crucibles and so on; In space technology, it is used as rocket engine tail nozzle and high temperature gas turbine blade. ²  Ferrosilicon

Ferrosilicon is an alloy of iron and silicon. Ferrosilicon is an iron-silicon alloy made of coke, steel chips, quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted by electric furnace. Since silicon and oxygen are easy to combine into silicon dioxide, iron silicon is often used as a deoxidizer in steelmaking, and due to the release of a large amount of heat when SiO2 is generated, it is also beneficial to improve the temperature of molten steel at the same time.

Ferrosilicon can also be used as alloying element additive, widely used in low-alloy structural steel, spring steel, bearing steel, heat-resistant steel and electrical silicon steel, ferrosilicon commonly used as reducing agent in ferroalloy production and chemical industry.

²  Silicone

Silicone, also known as siloxane, is a siloxane organic polymer formed by cross-linking silicon and oxygen. Due to the unique structure of silicone, it combines the performance of inorganic materials and organic materials. It has the basic properties of low surface tension, small viscosity-temperature coefficient, high compressibility, high gas permeability, and excellent characteristics of high and low temperature resistance, electrical insulation, oxidation resistance stability, weather resistance, flame resistance, water repellency, corrosion resistance, non-toxic and tasteless, and physiological inertia, widely used in aerospace, electronic and electrical, construction, transportation, chemical, textile, food, light industry, medical and other industries.

²  Monocrystalline silicon

Monocrystalline silicon usually refers to a substance in which silicon atoms are formed in an arrangement. Monocrystalline silicon is a more active non-metallic element, is an important part of crystal materials, in the forefront of the development of new materials. ²  Polysilicon

Price sources

The price is collected by dedicated price collectors every working day through telephone, communication software, email and other means to collect quotations and other transaction data from bidding companies. In order to ensure the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the data collected, the price collectors try to collect as much information as possible from manufacturers, buyers and traders of the products, from multiple perspectives.

Collection Criteria

²  Criteria for determining effective values: If the collected price parameters (including the product's indicators, origin, trading place, transaction price, trading volume, trading method and other factors that can affect the product pricing) are correct, clear and complete, the data will be judged valid and can be entered into the sample database.

²  Price calculation: The collected sample data were standardized according to the CBC price calculation model. In this model, various variables such as price type, trading volume, trading pattern and enterprise influence of data will be converted or weighted accordingly, and finally the mainstream price that is most in line with the current trading situation of the market will be calculated.

²  Handling outliers: After standardization of the sample data, the data deviating from the mainstream price by more than 10% will be reviewed and analyzed. If there are errors in the process of data collection and calculation, the corrected data will be re-entered into the sample database for standardized processing again, and finally the corrected mainstream market price will be obtained. If the data collection and calculation process is correct, the data will be removed after review and indicating the cause of the anomaly.

²  Method of setting prices in inactive periods: In some periods, the spot market may be inactive, resulting in actual transaction data collected less than the minimum amount of data required for CBC's calculation.
