AMAG Austria Metall AG, the renowned aluminium manufacturer from Ranshofen, has confirmed the renewal of its long-standing supply contract with Airbus. This renewal solidifies AMAG’s market position, allowing it to capitalize on growing aircraft production rates and secure a larger market share. AMAG has been trusted to provide Airbus with certified rolled aluminium for the structure and exterior of their entire range of aircraft.
The partnership, rooted in 1995, has seen a consistent rise in delivery volumes, a testament to AMAG’s quality and reliability. Significant expansions at the Ranshofen plant, including a new rolling mill, enlarged foundry, and increased recycling capacities, have fortified this growth trajectory.
Both companies remain committed to sustainability, with AMAG playing a pivotal role in minimizing the aviation sector’s carbon emissions. Leveraging its extensive value chain and state-of-the-art facilities in Ranshofen, AMAG aligns its products with Airbus’ sustainability benchmarks. The focus on reducing the carbon footprint of rolled products and collaborating on aerospace components exemplifies their shared dedication to eco-friendly initiatives.
Gerald Mayer, CEO of AMAG Austria Metall AG, elaborated in a press release.
“Our unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier products has enhanced our market standing with Airbus. We’re poised to support Airbus’ growth with innovative, sustainable products crafted from the latest manufacturing setups.”
Airbus acknowledged AMAG’s excellence this year with two accolades. The “Accredited Supplier” award, Airbus’ highest honor for suppliers, once again went to AMAG. Additionally, the company’s component division bagged the D2P Challenger award in March, continuing its legacy of securing top spots in Airbus’ “Detail Part Partners” evaluation since 2016.
