Implats increases RBPlat shareholding to 56.1%

JSE-listed Impala Platinum (Implats) has acquired a further 0.08% of the share capital of Royal Bafokeng Platinum (RBPlat).

Implats now owns 56.1% of RBPlat’s shares in issue.

The company has since the end of 2021 been gradually increasing its shareholding in the company and recently acquired the Public Investment Corporation’s 9.2% shareholding in RBPlat, in efforts to acquire all of the shares.

Northam Platinum, which had also previously sought to acquire all of RBPlat’s shares, holds 35.4% of RBPlat’s shares in issue.
