South Korean airlines launched extensive marketing activities such as increasing international flights and giving free tickets in preparation for more travelers in the year-end and New Year holidays.

Asiana Airlines Inc. said on Thursday that starting Dec. 22 it will add two more days of flights to its Hawaii route, raising the total service days to seven a week.

It resumed the Incheon-Honolulu line and has returned to normal 33 months after suspending it due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

It will resume two daily flights on Japan (Gimpo-Osaka) route, 14 times a week, starting on Jan. 13 next year, for the first time since it stopped flights in March 2020.

In addition, Asiana will shortly increase weekly flights on the London (UK) route from four to six, the Istanbul (Turkey) route from two to three, and the Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia) route from two to three.

Low-cost carriers are also moving to take advantage of special demand in the year-end holiday season.

T'Way Air Co. decided to hold a free ticket promotion with the movie theater Megabox.

To commemorate the launch of the Australian route for the first time among South Korea's budget carriers, it will give away 33 free round-trip tickets to a total of 15 people through a sweepstake among event applicants; 23 tickets for the Incheon-Sydney route, six for Singapore routes, and four for Thailand routes (Incheon to Bangkok).

Jin Air is focusing on the Guam route. It offers Incheon-Guam flights every day, and starting this month, will increase Busan-Guam flights to seven times a week.

By the end of March next year, it will offer discounts on fares for a passenger who book three or more and discount coupons to those who add Jin Air as a KakaoTalk Plus friend.

Air Busan has increased the number of flights from Busan to Fukuoka, Japan, from three to four every day.
