Although Merafe’s attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore Merafe Chrome Venture decreased by about 5% for the quarter ended December 31, 2022, output for the full year increased by about 1.3%, compared with the year ended December 31, 2021.
The company said in a statement issued on January 16 that these production levels were achieved despite the impact of load curtailments implemented by State-owned electricity utility Eskom.
